The best way to discover Turin is a tour of the historic center among Museums and Foundations that retrace the history of the city and show its Art and Cultural Heritage

The Mole Antonelliana

The Mole Antonelliana is a major building in the historic center of Turin, a symbol of the city and of Italy itself. The name “Mole” (in Italian, a building of monumental proportions) comes from the fact that in the past it was the highest masonry building in Europe. The adjective “Antonelliana” comes from the name of the architect who designed it Alessandro Antonelli. In the 20th century it was restored with reinforced concrete and steel girders. It is 167.5 meters high and it is still one of the highest buildings in the city.

Palazzo Madama

Palazzo Madama and Casaforte degli Acaja is an architectural and historic complex located in the central Piazza Castello in Turin. It is UNESCO World Heritage, as part of the serial site “Residenze Sabaude”. The palace hosts the Civic Museum of Ancient Art, and it is often chosen as a location for events and exhibitions.

Piazza Castello

Piazza Castello is Turin’s main square, the beating heart of the historic center of the city and the place where four main streets merge: the pedestrian street via Garibaldi, via Po, via Roma and via Micca. Piazza Castello has a square shape and in the middle of it there is the architectural complex including Palazzo Madama and Casaforte degli Acaja, while its perimeter is marked by elegant colonnades built in different periods and some important buildings.

Reggia di Venaria

The palace of Venaria Reale (in Piedmont dialect: ël Castel 'dla Venarìa) is one of the Residences of the Royal House of Savoy, included in the UNESCO Heritage List in 1997.
